Prescription integrity
We require a valid, patient-specific prescription from an authorized prescriber before dispensing a compounded medication.
Clinical approach
Our role is to support licensed prescribers when an appropriate compounded preparation is needed for an identified patient.
A deliberate approach
Vita Rx does not treat compounding as one-size-fits-all. Patient information, prescription requirements, dosage form, ingredients, and applicable limitations are reviewed within the pharmacist’s professional scope.
We require a valid, patient-specific prescription from an authorized prescriber before dispensing a compounded medication.
Pharmacy personnel assess whether the requested preparation fits the pharmacy’s capabilities, standards, and applicable requirements.
Pharmacists provide the required professional review and verification throughout the dispensing process.
Important distinction
Compounding can address individual clinical needs when an FDA-approved product is not appropriate or available for a particular patient. It is not a substitute for mass manufacturing, and compounded preparations should not be presented as equivalent to FDA-approved products.
Prescribers and patients should discuss the expected benefits, risks, and alternatives for each treatment decision.
